Man from Ville Platte arrested after repeatedly fleeing from authorities

EVANGELICAL CHURCH, La. (KLFY)– After authorities attempted several times to arrest a Ville Platte man on a felony warrant, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, was finally able to arrest him.

Officers initially received a tip that Triston Vidrine was at an address on Majic Lane in Pine Prairie. After officers saw Vidrine sitting in a truck on the property, they attempted to arrest him. Vidrine sped off in the truck and a chase ensued until they reached a wooded area in Easton, where Triston exited the vehicle and was able to evade arrest.

Authorities attempted to catch Vidrine several times, but failed when he fled into the woods on foot. After agents from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries received a tip that Vidrine was illegally hunting deer in the Lake Cove area, they went to a home in Lake Cove where he was staying, but he fled again in a truck and could not be caught.

Through another tip-off, EPSO soon learned that Vidrine was staying at an apartment in Pitkin and on 29 June he was arrested without incident.
