Husband of missing Arizona woman arrested – search continues

An Arizona man was arrested during the search for his missing wife, who disappeared during an outdoor workout session over the weekend.

Kelly Paduchowski was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Sunday when she left her Flagstaff home to jog and swim on the Campbell Mesa Trail, according to a Flagstaff police news release.

Her family reported her missing around 7:45 p.m. and told police they were worried because she had not returned home from their trip.

Authorities later found Paduchowski’s Mazda CX-5 but were unable to find any other trace of the missing woman. Her disappearance has since sparked a large-scale search effort involving officers from the Flagstaff Police Department and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Unit.

On Monday, police announced they had arrested her husband, 58-year-old Daniel Paduchowski, after “interviewing family members and witnesses and evaluating evidence” in connection with the case. He faces a charge of aggravated assault.

Police have not released any further details about his arrest, nor have they disclosed what evidence was used to charge him.

Paduchowski, described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 135 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and running shoes, authorities said.

“The investigation is ongoing and the top priority is to find Kelly,” police said.

Anyone with information about Paduchowski or her disappearance was asked to contact Flagstaff police.
