Investigation launched after a dog was attacked and killed by another dog

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses after a dog was attacked and killed by another dog in County Mayo.

The incident occurred on June 26 at around 7 p.m. on Greenway Walk in Westport.

After the attack, officers were called to the scene. A dog succumbed to its injuries.

“Gardaí in Westport have received a report of an incident where a dog was fatally injured following an attack by another dog on the Greenway Walk in Westport, Co. Mayo and are investigating,” a police statement released today said.

They have asked all witnesses to come forward.

“Anyone who may have camera footage (including dashboard cameras) and was travelling in the area at the time is asked to please make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” they said.
