VIDEO: Ryan Blaney criticizes “idiot” Michael McDowell on the radio after accident in New Hampshire.

Ryan Blaney’s famous explosions on the radio continue.

The current Cup Series champion came to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday hoping to make it two wins in a row after ending his winless streak at Iowa Speedway last week. Despite a strong race and running in second place with just nine laps remaining, his promising race was cut short.

While battling with the Front Row Motorsports driver, he was thrown into the wall and had to settle for a finish outside the top 25. The No. 34 Ford lost control during a risky maneuver against Ryan Blaney. His car slid on the track and collided with the Penske team’s Ford, which was driving in the outside lane.

Blaney, who is known for his radio outbursts despite being a quiet person off the track, was critical of his Ford colleague, calling the veteran foolish to perform such a maneuver at that stage of the race and continued to express his frustration in his post-race interview.

“What the hell did he think was going to happen? … I know exactly what happened. He jumped in there like an idiot.” – Ryan Blaney

McDowell apologized to Blaney after the race, but Blaney was not satisfied with the apology, as he felt it was a nice gesture but not enough to make up for what had happened. He stressed that the maneuver McDowell had made had little chance of success and was not worth taking both of them out of the race.

Blaney: “Apologies are nice, but they don’t make up for what he did. I knew what he was doing. It was a risky maneuver. It was wet down there and he dove in. What do you think is going to happen? You’re going to put us both out of the race.”

The duel between the two drivers resulted in a redeeming victory after they had struggled the previous weekend. The Ford duo of Blaney and McDowell were replaced by another Ford duo, just as SHR took the podium places.
