Suraj Revanna sexual abuse case: Arrested JD(S) MLC’s case transferred to CID; father HD Revanna alleges ‘conspiracy’

The case of alleged sexual abuse of a male party worker by arrested JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Sunday.

Suraj Revanna is the brother of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and the eldest son of Holenarasipura MP HD Revanna.

Prajwal Revanna is in police custody on suspicion of sexually abusing several women.

Suraj was charged under various sections of the IPC, including “unnatural offences”, after a 27-year-old man complained that Suraj Revanna sexually assaulted him at his farmhouse in Ghannikada on June 16, reported PTI.

The case was registered at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said the case would be handed over to the CID. “A number of similar cases have been handed over to the CID and this one will also be handed over to the CID.”

“There is a complaint. On this basis, all necessary action will be taken as per law,” PTI quoted Parameshwara as saying regarding Suraj Revanna’s conspiracy allegation.

The Interior Minister added that he otherwise knew nothing about the political conspiracy he alleged.”

Before his arrest, Suraj was also interrogated overnight at the Cyber ​​Economy and Drug Crime (CEN) police station in Hassan.

According to reports, Suraj was also taken to the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) for a medical examination.

Meanwhile, JD(S) MP and former Karnataka minister HD Revanna termed the allegations against his son Suraj as a “conspiracy” and said he had faith in God and the judiciary.

HD Revanna said he would tell everything when the time came and was not afraid of such conspiracies.

“I will not react to anything. Let the (CID) investigate. Who said there should be no investigation? I will not say anything. I have respect for the judiciary. I know what is going on in the state,” PTI quoted Revanna as saying.

Union Minister and JD(S) Karnataka leader HD Kumaraswamy said he had nothing to do with the case and the law would take its course.
