Whitestown Waste Management employee killed in workplace accident

WHITESTOWN – A Waste Management employee in Whitestown was killed in a workplace accident Tuesday.

Whitestown Police officers were called to the waste disposal facility at 6252 South Indianapolis Road after a person was hit by a vehicle shortly after 2 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an employee of the facility who had suffered a serious injury after being struck by a work vehicle.

The victim, identified as 59-year-old Johnny Williams of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to official reports, there was another workplace death at the factory in December.
