Man from Coimbatore arrested for sexually assaulting Malaysian student

Coimbatore: A 46-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for sexually assaulting a Malayali student in Coimbatore. The accused, B. Anandan of Telungupalayam, was arrested on a complaint filed by the 21-year-old physiotherapy student.

The plaintiff lived with four other friends in a rented house near Anandan’s house, where he lived with his wife and son. Anandan reportedly frequently molested the girl.

On Tuesday night, Anandan noticed that the girls had forgotten to lock the front door. In the early hours of Wednesday, he broke into their house and tried to assault the girl. He fled when she screamed for help. When the Selvapuram police received the complaint, they took him into custody.
