Buffalo Sabers promote Jerry Forton to assistant general manager

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabers announced Tuesday that the team is promoting Jerry Forton to assistant general manager.

Forton previously served as director of amateur scouting since the 2020-21 season.

Prior to that, he spent three seasons as director of college scouting and two seasons as assistant director of scouting.

“I am pleased to announce that Jerry Forton has been promoted to assistant general manager,” said general manager Kevyn Adams. “His constant commitment to the Sabers organization and his exemplary work ethic have played a central role in the success of our staff over the years.”

Forton also served as an amateur scout for the team during the 2014-15 season and served as an assistant coach during the 2013-14 season.

The Sabers also announced that Chris Bergeron had been hired as an amateur free agent scout.
