MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) – A 21-year-old man is facing charges after he fired a gun, striking a car, during an incident of aggression on the Ravenel Bridge Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Elijah Joseph Maestas was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) records.

Authorities said Maestas was traveling north on the bridge around 3:20 p.m. when he allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at another person’s vehicle.

According to the report, the victim told police that he was traveling on the bridge and inadvertently cut off the right of way of another vehicle, a blue sedan.
