Young girl injured after collision with patrol car in Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Philadelphia police spokesman said a teenage girl is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a car driven by a police officer Tuesday night.

The accident occurred in the 1600 block of South Ithan Street shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia, police said.

According to officials, an officer was driving south when his car struck a five-year-old girl.

The girl was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital where her condition is stable, officials said.

The officer was not injured and the accident investigation unit is investigating, police said.
