Simulated court case training at the Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy

Testifying in court is one of the many skills police officers learn in their training. The Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy trains in conjunction with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office by conducting a simulated court hearing. Each police student takes the witness stand and assistant prosecutors play the roles of prosecution and defense. There is even a mock judge who can object and decline during the proceedings. Police students begin by preparing police reports based on scenarios they respond to during their training in applied patrol procedures.

We spent the day training a simulated court case to show you first-hand how it works.
