The suspension, which will take effect on May 30, 2024, is a response to calls from industry representatives for a review of the levies.

Keyamo has formed a committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Aerospace Development, relevant agencies, AON, International Oil Companies (IOCs) and NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd. Its mandate is to address the concerns raised by stakeholders and submit a report by the end of June 2024.

NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd was initially granted exclusive rights to collect the levies by the government, but stakeholders questioned the appropriateness of the levy. The committee’s recommendations will guide the way forward on the issue.
