Sexual harassment: Man arrested for sexual harassment | Kochi News

Kochi: Ernakulam police on Thursday arrested a Nepali man for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in a moving bus. The arrested person has been identified as Megh Bahadoor (45). According to police, the accused sexually harassed the woman and a case has been registered on his own initiative under Section 119 A (Performing sexual gestures or acts degrading the dignity of women in public places) of the Kerala Police Act. The alleged incident took place in a private bus travelling between Panangad and Aluva. The incident took place on Thursday around 1.30 pm when the bus reached Kaloor. The woman told fellow passengers about the accused behaving sexually inappropriately with her. Later, the bus staff and fellow passengers took him to the police. However, police said the woman was not ready to press charges and file a complaint, so an FIR has been registered against him on his own initiative.
