Sheriff’s Office says Randolph County deputy and wife killed in traffic accident

A Randolph County Sheriff’s Office deputy and his wife were killed in a traffic accident, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to officials, the accident occurred on Wednesday as Deputy John Davie Garner and his wife Alisha were returning home from vacation.

The Sheriff’s Office said Dep. Garner retired from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 after 22 years of service as a lieutenant. After his retirement, he returned to the Sheriff’s Office, where he currently works part-time as a bailiff.

“Rest in peace, good and faithful servant, we will take care of the rest,” the sheriff’s office said. “Please keep your daughters, their families, friends and colleagues in mind and pray for them.”
