Video of Corey Harris at the wheel: Man with revoked license appears in court in Michigan via Zoom while driving

If you are accused of driving without a license, you probably should not appear at a virtual court hearing while driving.

That’s exactly what happened earlier this month during a hearing in Washtenaw County, Michigan – and the judge couldn’t hide his shock.

When defendant Corey Harris joined the call via Zoom, he was seen behind the wheel. He even said he was on his way to his doctor’s office.

“Your Honor, we respectfully request an adjournment in this matter, possibly for three to four weeks, if the court permits,” an attorney said during the hearing.

“OK, maybe I’m not understanding something. Is this driving while license suspended?” asked Judge Cedric Simpson.

“That is correct, Your Honor,” the lawyer replies.

Shortly thereafter, Judge Simpson revokes Harris’ bail and orders him to surrender by 6 p.m.

“Oh my God,” Harris gasps before the hearing ends.

According to court records, Harris was charged with driving without a license in October of last year.
