Sheridan and Buffalo Show population increases from 2022 to 2023 – Sheridan Media

The cities of Sheridan and Buffalo saw population increases between 2022 and 2023, according to a report released by Wenlin Liu, chief economist for the Economic Analysis Division of the Wyoming Department of Administration and Information.

The report shows that Sheridan had a population of 19,543 in July 2023, an increase of 338 individuals, or 1.8%.

Sheridan is the sixth largest city in the state behind Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette, Laramie and Rock Springs.

Buffalo’s population as of July 2023 was 4,621 and is ranked 18th.th in size.

Buffalo grew by 26 people, or 0.6% from 2022 to 2023.

Three towns, Rawlins, which lost 138 residents, Wheatland, which lost 66, and Kemmerer, which lost 43, experienced population declines of more than 1.0 percent.

Rawlins is the only place that lost more than 100 residents during the year.

The total state population was 584,057, an increase of 0.42% from 2022.

In Wyoming, 401,086 people, or 68.7%, lived in incorporated places as of July 2023.
