Man charged with raping child in Rockville apartment, police say

ROCKVILLE, Md. – A man is facing charges after Montgomery County police say he raped a child in a Rockville apartment. Authorities also believed he may have victimized others, police said.

Eric Bacon, 33, was arrested April 26 and charged this week with burglary and first-degree rape of a minor, Montgomery County police said in a news release.

According to police, on April 24 around 3 p.m., Bacon entered the victim’s Rockville apartment in the 15000 block of Frederick Road. Police said the victim came home and found Bacon in the apartment.

According to authorities, Bacon sexually assaulted the victim before leaving the apartment with an unknown amount of stolen property. The victim’s brother came home around 7 p.m. and told police he saw Bacon outside their house.

Bacon was arrested two days later in the 15900 block of Frederick Road by officers on routine patrol, police said.
