Three dead in bus crash in river in St. Petersburg, Russia

Three people were killed Friday when a bus with an estimated 20 people on board plunged into a river in the northern Russian city of St. Petersburg, officials said.

“Rescuers pulled nine people out of the sunken bus…” the Emergency Management Ministry said on social media.

Surveillance video images apparently showing the crash were broadcast in Russian media.

Video showed the bus making a sharp turn on the road before plunging off a bridge and sinking within seconds.
