NDBCI investigates former Cass County Sheriff’s deputy

FARGO, ND (KVRR) — A former Cass County Sheriff’s deputy is also under investigation.

Former Deputy Darin Viken, who has been with our office for nineteen years, was placed on leave on July 17 and subsequently terminated from employment on July 22.

In 2015, Viken was appointed coordinator of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office’s 24/7 sobriety program.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is working with the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation in the Viken investigation.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement that due to the nature of the allegations against Viken, no further information would be released at this time.
