Homicide investigation launched after man found shot to death in Kansas City vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) — A homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a man who was found shot to death in his car in Kansas City following a call about a carjacking.

Kansas City, Missouri police say that on Friday, July 19, at approximately 4 p.m., emergency personnel were called to the area of ​​NE 34th and NE Chouteau Trafficway near the Buckeye Greenway for a report of a stolen vehicle.

When emergency responders arrived, they found 64-year-old Anthony R. Brown in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, July 20, KCPD announced that Brown had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Homicide detectives have now taken over the investigation.
