Death investigation underway in Sauk Rapids

(KNSI) – A death investigation is underway after a body was found in Lion’s Park Sunday morning.

Just before 7:00 a.m., a woman called 911 and reported a man lying in the grass. Officers arrived and found the man at the scene, who was pronounced dead.

Sauk Rapids Police say: “Lions Park and Wading Pool in Sauk Rapids on the Mississippi River are closed to the public today due to an ongoing criminal investigation. We expect to reopen tomorrow, July 22, 2024. Thank you for your patience.”

A team from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to investigate.
