Search underway for man missing from Houston-area lake

A search is underway for a man who went missing while swimming in an east Houston lake.

A man reported that his friend jumped into Muleshoe Lake, located on the San Jacinto River. After swimming in the water, the man never resurfaced.

Marine units from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and officials from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are on scene and a search is underway.

The search was reported by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez on X.
