Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki died at the age of 35 from electrocution while hugging a drenched concertgoer

Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki died of an electric shock after hugging a soaking wet fan during a concert on July 13. He was 35 years old.

According to several reports, Sasaki hugged a fan during his recent concert at the Solar Hotel in Salinopolis. The contact allegedly broke a cable, causing an electric shock.

It is unclear why the concert-goer got soaked during the show. The Brazilian police are currently investigating the incident. The Solar Hotel is cooperating with the investigation.

“We are fully committed to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reiterate our commitment to fully cooperate with the competent authorities in the proper investigation of the events,” said a statement in Portuguese posted on social media. “Our thoughts and condolences are with Ayres Sasaki’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

Sasaki leaves behind his wife, Marianawho broke her silence the next day with an emotional statement in her Instagram story.

“I want to thank you for every loving and comforting message, for every prayer in this difficult time we are going through,” Mariana, who married the late artist in 2023, wrote at the time. “I haven’t been able to read all the messages yet, but when I feel better, I will respond to each one. Thank you.”

Sasaki’s family also mourns his death.

“We are contacting people who were with him at the time to understand how everything happened,” said his aunt Rita Matos told the newspaper Istoé Gente“We will summarize all information in a statement that we will release to the press.”

Sasaki also worked as an architect and had a strong passion for music.

“Now that I have a little more time, I want to thank God and everyone again for all the support you gave me in the time leading up to this event, to @mangapuboficial who believed in my work with a band to open the @cpm22 show and make this party a really crazy rock,” Sasaki wrote on Instagram back in December 2021.

He added: “To my relatives and friends who are ALWAYS with me. I go everywhere even though everyone is tired of seeing me sing hahahaha. To my musicians @raffa_augusto @didio_mlkn, @tarcisio6385 and @rafael.sgdrum who together with me on stage ruined everything and messed up the show! In the end… What the hell with CRL!!!!
