Pregnant Gwinnett teenager found dead on roadside, ex-boyfriend charged with lying to police

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – Gwinnett County police are investigating after a pregnant 16-year-old was found dead Monday.

Around 1 a.m., officers were called to the 3600 block of Stephens Road in Loganville, a mostly residential area. Police said Mia Campos’ family found her body in a wooded area off the road using a cellphone tracking app.

The family said Campos left the house the night before with an unknown person. Campos’ death was ruled a homicide on Tuesday.

Jesus Monroy, Campos’ ex-boyfriend, was arrested Wednesday and charged with making false statements to police, according to Gwinnett police.
