Miami Beach police seek man for ‘very heinous attack’ on inline skater on Beachwalk

MIAMI BEACH, Florida. – Police in Miami Beach are searching for the person who allegedly attacked a woman while she was inline skating early Tuesday morning.

The suspect is still at large while the victim is recovering.

According to police, he attacked the young woman from behind around 1 a.m. on Tuesday as she was roller skating on the Miami Beach Beachwalk near 23rd Street.

The investigators speak of bodily harm and a delicate investigation.

“This was a very, very heinous attack and our organization takes it seriously,” said Officer Christopher Bess, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department.

Authorities did not provide any further details about the incident, saying only that the woman was brutally attacked and an altercation ensued.

Detectives found a video of the attack and released a flyer with still images of the suspect.

He was wearing a white T-shirt and board shorts, was described as being approximately 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall, between 20 and 30 years old, and had tattoos on his arms.

“Our priority right now is to identify and locate this perpetrator,” Bess said. “There are still many questions we want to answer.”
