Dr. Tyler James Hurst charged with sexual assault

Dr. Tyler James Hurst was accused of at least 15 patients while he was working in the emergency room at Community Medical Center in Missoula. These assaults allegedly took place between 2017 and 2023. The allegations against Dr. Hurst are serious, and the hospital has revoked his clinical privileges.

Affected patients are encouraged to come forward. They may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, therapy costs, pain and suffering and other related damages.

The allegations were reported by patients at Community Medical Center of Missoula County, where Dr. Hurst worked as an independent physician in the emergency department. The Missoula emergency department has been very cooperative with the ongoing investigation.

Recently, the Community Medical Center administration team published a statement:

“Community Medical Center was previously notified of a patient allegation regarding Dr. Tyler Hurst, an independent physician practicing in Community Medical Center’s emergency department. We removed Dr. Hurst from the facility and initiated an independent investigation that ultimately stripped him of his medical staff membership and clinical privileges. Our team is working with local law enforcement and has notified the appropriate authorities to investigate and resolve the matter. The safety of our patients is our top priority and we believe patients should be encouraged to share their experiences and concerns.”

Criminal proceedings

In addition to the potential class action lawsuit, Dr. Hurst faced with several chargesincluding sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent. If convicted, he faces up to 86 years in prison.
