TRAFFIC ALERT | Delays planned for asphalting of 13th Street

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Work on a $1 million Kentucky Transportation Cabinet paving project along 13th Street in Ashland will begin next week.

The project involves the removal and replacement of old asphalt and will be carried out after peak hours, with all work taking place between 7pm and 7am each evening.

Starting Monday, July 15, motorists should expect overnight roadwork, lane closures and delays as contractors repave nearly two miles of US 60-13th Street from Winslow Road (KY 1134) to Pollard-Oakview Road in downtown.

During the day, the journey takes place on rough, milled road surfaces.

Once paving is completed, traffic changes may continue for several days as workers complete final road markings and other work.

The work is expected to take about two weeks.
