New charges filed against Polk County man for video voyeurism

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Three more victims have been identified and additional charges filed against a man arrested last month on video voyeurism charges in Polk County.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said 43-year-old Domingo Rivera Velez was arrested on Wednesday, June 26, after allegedly taking photographs of a girl while she was using the restroom.

Following Velez’s arrest, PCSO investigators said they seized numerous electronic devices. After searching the electronic devices, investigators identified three other victims whose recordings were unknowingly recorded.

According to PCSO, all three new victims are now adults, but one was 11 years old at the time of admission.

Investigators are continuing to examine video taken at the South Lakeland Home Depot where he worked. The PCSO said the video they are now examining shows a hidden camera aimed under the skirts and dresses of customers walking through the aisles.

The new charges against Valez are video voyeurism of a victim under 16 (F2), video voyeurism (2 counts, F3), expanded possession of child pornography (2 counts, F3), and production of child pornography (F2).

PCSO Sheriff Grady Judd urged anyone who had suspicious encounters with Rivera Velez to contact PCSO detectives at 863-298-6200.
