In the next few days the probability of rain is lower

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Monday afternoon was a continuation of the very wet summer we’ve had in 2024. Most of us had less than an inch of rain, but some communities also got 1-2 inches. We’re becoming much less likely to reach that in the future. With less rain-cooled air, temperatures will be in the 80s to 25s.

On Tuesday the probability of rain is significantly lower, but some showers cannot be ruled out.

The rain is not over yet, though. Over the next few days, a few isolated thunderstorms will develop in the afternoons. Just like Monday, no severe storms are expected. The chances of hail and gusty winds from thunderstorms are also MUCH lower.

The remnants of Beryl are still expected to pass south of us. If it ends up moving more northward, some communities around Highway 10 and further south could see light rainfall, but that is not likely at this time.

Things will clear up in the second half of the week. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s and 35s this coming weekend. Sunday is expected to be one of our hottest days this year. With more humid conditions expected this coming weekend, a First Alert Weather Day may be necessary on Sunday due to the extreme heat, but I’m not there yet. Our next large-scale weather maker is expected to be on Saturday.
