Clash between police and protesters at MIT

On Thursday afternoon there were clashes with demonstrators in front of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with several of them apparently being arrested. The actions came the day after the school began suspending students who participated in a pro-Palestinian camp on Kresge Lawn.

Protesters chanted and marched near MIT’s Stata Center when MIT campus police and Cambridge police moved in. Police then cordoned off Vassar Street in Cambridge and asked media to leave the area.

Along with the outcry against the university’s ties to Israel, students also chanted against the police.
