10-month-old baby raped by family member – News

A ten-month-old girl was allegedly raped by a family member in Jamnagar district of Gujarat, police said today.
The incident took place last night in Kanalus village in Lalpur taluka of the district when the girl was sexually assaulted by Mukesh Thakor (30), a cousin of her father, who took her along and allegedly committed the heinous crime, said Meghpar police station sub-inspector Nasir Rayma.
The girl’s father runs a hair salon in Kanalus village. Last night, his cousin visited him and took the little girl out for a short time under the pretext of playing with her. After about 10 minutes, he took the girl back home and left the house in a hurry.
“The girl was crying. When the parents checked, they found blood stains on her dress and claimed that she was raped. She was admitted to Jamnagar Civil Hospital and is fine now,” said Rayma.
A case has been registered against Thakor under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code for rape and under Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexual assault, he said. The accused has not been arrested yet, the official added.
