Severe storms are possible on Thursday afternoon

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Thursday is a first weather alert day as severe weather is possible in the afternoon.

The best time for severe weather is between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. A tornado warning is in effect until 7 p.m

The main threat will be damaging winds in excess of 70 mph and large hail. The tornado threat appears low, but not zero.

Friday is also a weather warning day. A cold front is expected to slowly move in. As a result, there is still a risk of showers and storms on Friday morning and afternoon.

The greatest chance of severe weather is between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday. The main threats will be wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, large hail and a slight threat of tornadoes.
