‘Tragic accident’: JSO investigates 3-year-old drowning death at Intracoastal West swimming pool – Action News Jax

During a briefing, Sergeant Joshua Catir said first responders received a distress call about the drowning of a three-year-old.

As soon as they arrived, they took the boy to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The boy’s family had gathered at the house for the Fourth of July celebrations when they found the unconscious child in the pool.

The police say they do not believe that a crime was committed; it was a “tragic accident.”

Investigators are still trying to determine whether anyone was outside at the time of the drowning.
