Kyle Ng previews the Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smith

To update: After the first pictures of the Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smith – which is now called “Unstructured” – appeared online two weeks ago, there is now an official release date for the sneakers.

Described as an “ode to the legendary Wimbledon champion,” the structure of the sneaker stays true to the “Unstructured” name. The silhouette is constructed from unlined, supple cowhide leather, which provides a more moldable fit and feel. A grass-like texture wraps the heel of the green and white shoe, and Brain Dead branding can be seen on the tongue and lace tips.

Ng also collaborated with the Bob Baker Marionette Theater to create a puppet titled “Brain Dead x Adidas – Mechanics of Swing.”

The “OG colorway” of the Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smith sneakers will only be released in person – first on Saturday, July 6th at Dover Street Market in London, followed by another release on Sunday, July 7th at Brain Dead’s tennis event at London’s Cumberland Lawn. Original story: It looks like another collaboration between Brain Dead and adidas is on the way. Brain Dead’s Kyle Ng shared images on Instagram of a Brain Dead x adidas Originals version of the classic Stan Smith silhouette.

The first two looks at the sneaker came shortly after Brain Dead’s first-ever collaboration with Adidas, which was released last week in the form of a reinterpretation of the Adidas bowling shoe.

For Ng’s take on the Stan Smith, he takes the sneaker’s classic green accents and takes them a step further by incorporating even more of the vibrant hue. The sneaker also stays true to its signature white silhouette, enhanced by a perforated Brain Dead logo on one side of the upper.

The tongue features a few other new details, including an adidas Stan Smith logo and “Endorsed by: Brain Dead” with another of the label’s faceless logos. The eyelets are a more olive green hue and are complemented by frayed light green laces. A cream outsole completes the design.

Ng also shared a special edition box for the sneaker on his Instagram account, featuring the Three Stripes logo placed inside the Brain Dead head.
