FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Thursday following an investigation into a burglary at the county’s old water treatment plant.

According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, James Hickman was taken into custody Thursday.

On Tuesday, investigators were dispatched to the Boxankle Road facility on a report of a break-in. When they arrived, Hickman allegedly fled.

He was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon after officers obtained an arrest warrant at his home.

He is charged with second-degree burglary, theft by taking (a felony), and obstructing an officer and is being held without bail in the Monroe County Jail.
