Man files complaint of sexual abuse: Brother of Prejwal Revanna arrested

Bengaluru: In a new development, sex crimes accused former MP Prajwal Revanna’s brother Suraj Revanna has been named in a sexual assault case filed against him by a man.

In the complaint filed by the man, he alleged that Suraj Revanna, an MLC of the Janata Dal (Secular), sexually assaulted him on June 16 at his farm, India Today reported.

According to the complainant, Suraj had invited him to his farmhouse and he had forcibly kissed him and bitten his lips and cheeks. Suraj had also threatened to kill him if he did not cooperate, the man alleged.

The man’s complaint said: “Suraj told me you are alone on this farm. You don’t know anything about me and our family. He threatened to kill me if I didn’t cooperate.”

The man went on to say that Suraj sexually abused him and then told him that he would help him advance in politics in his district.

He further said that he later texted Suraj about the incident, but Suraj in his reply told him not to worry and that everything was fine.

However, Suraj Revanna and his friend Shivakumar had already filed a complaint on Saturday, claiming that two people had blackmailed them on the basis of false allegations of sexual assault.

Following this, a JD(S) worker and his relatives were booked for allegedly trying to extort money from Suraj. Sivakumar filed the complaint on Friday based on which an FIR was lodged against a person named Chethan KS and his brother-in-law.

Suraj Revanna is the son of Holenarasipura MP HD Revanna and the elder brother of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is in police custody on charges of sexually harassing several women.
