According to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report, Nash McKnight was driving a Kia Optima westbound on I-70 near East 175 Road at 2:18 a.m. Friday. That’s about 2 miles east of the Topeka rest area.

According to the report, McKnight’s vehicle struck the side of a Mercury Grand Marquis that was also traveling westbound.

McKnight’s vehicle rolled over, left the road and struck a rock wall. He was ejected from the vehicle and did not survive, the report said.

The Grand Marquis hit the guardrail, but its driver, a 20-year-old man from Olathe, suffered no visible injuries, according to the accident report.
