Police operation in Oakland – NBC Bay Area

There were reports of a heavy police presence in Lake Merritt after violence broke out at an alleged Juneteenth celebration on Wednesday night.

According to KTVU, which originally reported on the incident, there were shots fired and some people were injured. The reports are unconfirmed.

NBC Bay Area reached out to Oakland police but did not receive an immediate response Wednesday evening.
