Gordon Ramsay reveals massive bruise after bike crash and urges cyclists to wear helmets

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay urged his social media followers to wear a helmet while cycling as he spoke about a serious accident he was recently involved in that could have been fatal.

“I want to share a very important message with all of you,” Ramsay said in a video. “You know how much I love cycling, triathlon, Ironman, etc. This week, unfortunately, I had a really bad accident. And that really shook me. And of course, I’m happy to be here.”

“The incredible trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses at the hospital who took care of me this week were amazing. But honestly, you have to wear a helmet,” he continued. “I don’t care how short the ride is. I don’t care that these helmets cost money, but they are essential. Even with children, even if it’s just a short ride, they have to wear a helmet.”

He then lifted the side of his shirt to reveal a massive bruise he sustained in the accident, covering the entire side of his torso.

“Now I’m glad I can stand here. I’m in pain,” he said. “It’s been a brutal week and I’m getting through it somehow. But I can’t tell you how important it is to wear a helmet.”

He ended the video with another request: “Please, please, please, please wear a helmet. Because if I didn’t, I honestly wouldn’t be here right now.”

In the caption of the video posted on X, Ramsay said the accident happened in Connecticut.
