French court orders arms exhibition organizers to lift ban on Israeli companies

Paris:

A French court on Tuesday ordered the organizers of an arms fair to lift a ban on Israeli companies, a lawyer for the French-Israeli Chamber of Commerce told AFP.

The Paris Commercial Court described Coges Events’ decision to exclude 74 Israeli exhibitors from Eurosatory as “discriminatory,” said lawyer Patrick Klugman.

Coges Events said last month that the ban had been ordered by the French government, but offered no explanation.

The defense fair will take place from June 17 to 21 at an exhibition center near Paris International Airport.

In response to the ban, Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Arieh King asked garbage collectors to bypass the French consulate, but a statement from City Hall said the request would not be followed.
