38-year-old woman “had a baby with the boy she sexually abused”

A 38-year-old woman is accused of having a young daughter with a boy whom she allegedly sexually abused.

Sarah Campbell is accused of 16 counts of sexual abuse of two boys between 2016 and 2018.

One of the charges alleges that her daughter was conceived on one of the occasions on which she allegedly sexually abused one of the boys.

Campbell appeared before Judges C. Parkinson and A. Buxton at Sefton Magistrates’ Court in Merseyside on Wednesday morning.

She was accused of 13 counts of penetrative acts with a boy between the ages of 13 and 15, all of which are said to have occurred between 2016 and 2018.

Campbell also faces three counts of engaging in non-penetrative conduct with a boy between the ages of 13 and 15 between 2016 and 2017.

Luke Unsworth prosecuted the case for the Crown and Graeme Halliwell represented Campbell.

A clerk stated that due to the seriousness of the alleged offences, the charges “cannot be tried in the magistrates’ court but must be tried in the Crown Court”.

Campbell, from Bootle, was released on bail pending her next hearing at Liverpool Crown Court on June 9.
