Man of Indian descent shoots Punjabi woman in the USA and injures another

A man of Indian origin open fire At two women of Punjab on Roosevelt Avenue in Cartaret, New Jersey. The shooting occurred outside a residential building on Wednesday morning and resulted in the death of one woman and the other suffering life-threatening injuries.
According to US media, the suspect, 19-year-old Gaurav Gill, was taken into custody by law enforcement and is accused of murder.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on June 14, the Indian Consulate General identified the victims as Jasvir Kaur and Gagandeep Kaur and expressed sadness over the unfortunate event.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ms. Jasvir Kaur and the injuries sustained by Ms. Gagandeep Kaur in a shooting incident on Roosevelt Avenue in Cartaret, New Jersey. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased,” the Indian Consulate General in New York wrote on X.
After the incident, the two women were taken to hospital by helicopter. One of the victims, Jasvir, died as a result of her serious injuries.
Law enforcement authorities have not yet released any information about the perpetrator’s possible motive or any connection between Gill and the victims.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. The Indian Consulate General in New York said it is in contact with RWJ Barnabas Health & Carteret. PD should continue to pursue the case.
