I-25 closed after incident involving semi-trailer near Fountain

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — I-25 northbound is closed in Fountain due to an incident involving a semi-truck. The Colorado State Patrol responded along with the Stratmoor Hills Fire Department and the Fort Carson Hazardous Materials Response Team. When we arrived at the scene, we saw an ambulance pulling out.

We have received calls to CSP and our crew on scene is working to get more information. The reason for the closure is currently unknown. Hazardous materials responders can be seen placing bags of unknown material around the truck.

Southbound I-25 is limited to one lane only. Due to high traffic volume and construction in this area, this area of the city is already very busy. Avoid this area if possible. It is unclear when I-25 will reopen.
