Buffalo Bills Notes from Day 2 of Mandatory Minicamp

The Buffalo Bills finally got some fantastic early summer weather in Western New York to complete the second day of mandatory minicamp. After the shadow that fell over Tuesday’s session, leaving fans concerned about a cautiously ambiguous injury report from wide receiver Khalil Shakir, the second day of minicamp proved more optimistic.

Admittedly, Sal Capaccio did not specify what the injury appeared to be, only stating that something in the lower part of the body was visibly affected, but not to the point that he could not leave the field on his own.

Above all, Matthieu Bove shared the news that Shakir was spotted working out on the side on Wednesday, sporting a sleeve on his left leg. A deep breath followed by a sigh of relief for all of Bills Mafia today.

Josh Reed highlighted how Josh Allen showed great focus connecting on deep shots throughout the day to Keon Coleman and KJ Hamler. Reed also shared an encouraging update on linebacker Matt Milano, saying he “looked comfortable going to the ground during a tackling drill.”

Be sure to watch the short video embedded in Reed’s tweet to see Milan in action! Reed mentioned that Shakir was essentially a spectator in Wednesday’s session.

Third-year cornerback Kaiir Elam has made numerous head-turning plays throughout the offseason, the latest being an interception of quarterback Josh Allen on a pass intended for rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman .

Although Coleman was involved in the play where Elam intercepted Allen, he continues to impress in practice, with Alex Brasky noting Coleman’s aerial catch on a tough pass to cornerback Rasul Douglas.
