New Milford police are searching for a driver accused of “yelling” at police officers on May 24, 2024.

NEW MILFORD, Connecticut (WTNH) – New Milford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver accused of “phoning” police officers last month.

Police said that just minutes after midnight on May 24, two officers conducting a traffic stop on Danbury Road near Pickett District Road approached patrol cars from behind, swerved and accelerated around them at over 65 miles per hour.


According to police, the suspect came within a few meters of a patrol car, where a police officer had been standing a few seconds earlier.

The suspect may have been driving a gray 2021 BMW M340xi with a black spoiler lip and loud aftermarket exhaust. Police say the license plate was registered in Connecticut.

Police said they determined through video surveillance from patrol cars at the incident and surrounding businesses that the same vehicle may have fled from police on Danbury Road at around 5 p.m. on May 5.
