DPS: 82-year-old man dead after ATV truck crash in Coryell County

CORYELL COUNTY, Texas – An 82-year-old man is dead following a crash between an ATV and a truck Saturday afternoon, according to DPS.

At approximately 11:28 a.m. that day, Texas DPS Troopers were called to a crash on State Highway 36 in Coryell County involving a car and an ATV. According to troopers, Rodolf Carl Drosche, 82, of Gatesville, was driving a Honda ATV to pick up mail from a rural mailbox on a private road when he failed to yield the right of way of a 2012 Dodge Ram truck driven by a 64-year-old Gatesville man and drove into the path of the truck.

According to DPS, the truck was traveling eastbound when the collision occurred.

Drosche was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Waco and pronounced dead by medical personnel. DPS says the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
