Person shot in west Indy apartment parking lot incident – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One person died in a shooting in the parking lot of a west side apartment complex early Saturday morning.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers were dispatched to the Maple Creek Village Apartments in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street around 1:30 a.m. for a report that someone had been shot.

When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Initially, he was said to be in critical condition, but he died shortly afterward.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred after an incident involving several people in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Police did not provide any information about possible suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
