Informant reports registration violation of convicted Massachusetts rapist

An anonymous informant reported a reporting violation by a convicted Massachusetts rapist living in Marion County.

Jean Carlos Perez, 43, of Ocklawaha was booked into the Marion County Jail Wednesday for failing to properly register his address as a sex offender.

The anonymous informant reported on May 31 that Perez lived at 380 NE 64th Avenue in Ocala. Sheriff’s officials confirmed that Perez had not updated his address.

The Puerto Rican native was convicted of second-degree rape and child abuse in Franklin County, Massachusetts in 2004.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail on $15,000 bail.
