Man shot dead in Lancaster

A man was shot in Lancaster early Friday morning. Authorities say they are investigating the circumstances.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting was reported at about 2:30 a.m. in the 44000 block of Gingham Avenue.

The victim, identified only as a man, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

No further details, including information about a suspect, were immediately released.
