Spectrum News 1 to host NY-22 debate

Sarah Klee Hood and Senator John Mannion will face off in a primary debate for New York’s 22nd anniversary.^sd Congressional district on Spectrum News 1.

The hour-long debate will be moderated by Capital Tonight’s Susan Arbetter at Onondaga Community College on Tuesday, June 18. The debate will be live at 7 p.m.

Mannion is a former science teacher who has served in the state Senate since 2020. Klee Hood is an Air Force veteran and member of the DeWitt Town Board of Trustees. She lost the 2022 Democratic primary to Francis Conole, who lost the general election.

The winner of this year’s primary will face Republican Brandon Williams, who is seeking re-election. Cook, political journalist designated the seat as one of the most vulnerable in the country this fall. The 22nd^sd The congressional district represents all of Onondaga and Madison counties, as well as parts of Cayuga, Cortland, and Oneida counties.

Early voting begins Saturday, June 15. Primary day is Tuesday, June 25.
